What is a Bikehangar?
The Bikehangar is a product born from necessity – a shared bike storage solution that allows up to six users to lock their bikes away from bad weather and protect them from theft.
The Bikehangar provides users with safe, secure bicycle parking that protects bikes from the weather whilst freeing up precious space in households. Installed on public or private land, up to six bikes can be locked in a footprint that is less than half the size of an on-street car parking spot. The Bikehangars low-profile, curved design allows it to blend into its surroundings making the Bikehangar an excellent solution for implementing daylighting designs at busy intersections. The adjustable feet allow placement from curb to street and make relocation, if necessary, equally as easy.

What are the benefits of a Bikehangar?
The Bikehangar is a compact bike storage unit and can be installed almost anywhere that has a concrete or asphalt pad. It doesn’t require an electrical connection and can be relocated with ease if necessary. Bikehangars come with a 10-year warranty, don’t have parts that wear out easily and require very minimal maintenance, making the overall cost of ownership next to nothing. In fact, the first Bikehangars that were installed in 2012 are still going strong!

What are the use-cases of a Bikehangar?
The Bikehangar serves two primary use cases – on-demand and limited access.
Limited access is typically used at universities, apartment buildings, or corporate campuses where a specific group of people have access to the Bikehangar. Users rent a space in the Bikehangar on a monthly or annual basis.
On-demand access allows members of the public to park their bike in key destinations such as downtowns and commercial districts in a secure, weatherproof Bikehangar, safe from damage or theft. Typically employed by municipalities and transit agencies, access to the on-demand network is managed through the Cyclehoop smartphone app where users register their personal information and provide payment information through a secure payment system. On-demand users are charged for the time they use the Bikehangar. Usage data across the entire network is tracked through the parking app. This provides invaluable user data insights that can be used to plan and determine future cycling infrastructure.
